The number of people I come across that absolutely fall in love with Colombia is astounding but unsurprising.

There is so much to love about the place. It’s impossible to be bored in Colombia.

The nature is amazing, with endless hiking possibilities, and the country itself is very diverse not just from a terrain point of view but culturally as well.

The cities are fun and vibrant, just like the people.

Inevitably, people start to ask themselves how they can stay there full time. Of course, there is the digital nomad visa, but that expires after a while. For those that want to stick around longer, there are a number of residency and long-term visa options available.

In this video with my attorney Alan, we discuss the various ways to obtain residency in Colombia.

Feel free to contact Alan to receive his extensive collection of free brochures on how to obtain residency in Colombia and Colombian real estate transactions from a legal point of view.

One of the easiest ways to get residency in Colombia is through the purchase of real estate.

And good news, though prices have risen and are expected to continue rising with the presidential elections next year (which should yield a more pro-investment president), they remain affordable.

Feel free to read my analysis of the Medellin real estate market along with case studies.

The market is really picking up in Bogota after having been in a lull for a few years. We called the bottom last year with my Bogota realtor Arcesio. It’s still early days.

What about my property in Medellin?

It’s doing well and has been fully rented out since last year. I’ll release a video on the results of the penthouse renovation along with all the remodeling and ROI numbers.
