I typically spend most Summers in Montenegro and even have family that moved there full-time to benefit from an amazing lifestyle, an affordable cost of living, and low taxes.

On paper dividends, capital gains, rental income, etc get taxed at 15% on worldwide income. Personal income gets taxed between 9% and 15%.

In this video I had a quick chat with Andreas, my immigration agent and incorporator in Montenegro, in which he elaborated on the latest corporate and income tax changes in Montenegro.

Real estate has become a lot more affordable for owners of USD

Courtesy of European Union politicians’ energy policies the EUR is now at parity with the USD.

In the US, Canada, and Australia, USD150,000 won’t get you anything interesting anywhere, and prices could potentially take a hit due to rising interest rates.

There is barely any mortgage market in Montenegro, so the housing market will not be impacted by interest rate changes. So with USD150,000 you can get a lovely 2 bedroom apartment somewhere along the coast in Montenegro with stunning views, which would also entitle you and your family to residency if need be.

I wrote a whole article on the real estate market in Montenegro here.
