I constantly have a barrage of health insurance companies contacting me to promote their policies.

I have been declining for years. Why?

Because there isn’t a single health insurance company that has the “best” coverage for all expats and nomads.

International health insurance is a very complex topic. Whatever health insurance works great for your friends and family could be a terrible fit for you. All these companies have different competitive advantages and disadvantages. And by “market” I do not just mean which countries, but also which family compositions, the type of health insurance required, and how they deal with pre-existing conditions.

It’s a topic I know well. I grew up traveling all over the world as a child and teenager following my expat father’s career, then studied internationally, then worked as an expat in Africa for a large multinational, and now I am on my own doing business internationally.

I’ve been to doctors and been hospitalized all over the world.

So I’m happy to introduce you to Warren, who is a good family friend and who specializes in international health insurance matters, for both Americans and non Americans. He has been an expat himself for years together with his wife and dog.

What is crucial to understand is that using a broker does not make your insurance policy more expensive as health insurance companies simply make more margin when you go directly to their websites, but you miss out on all the free advice.

Also, getting international health insurance is not a one-time decision. For example my family composition is expected to change later this year, so I will be in touch with Warren to make sure my current policy is the most competitive. If it’s not, I’ll make the switch.

Warren and I discuss this and a number of other mistakes to avoid making when purchasing international health insurance.

Feel free to get in touch with Warren to discuss your international health insurance objectives.
