I just landed here last night on the thrice weekly Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul.

Why am I in Sierra Leone?

I’m here with my team and some of our clients who are considering applying for the Sierra Leone Citizenship by Investment program.

My team member, who is in charge of our licensed citizenship by investment programs, couldn’t believe his eyes when we landed at Freetown International Airport. He was last in Sierra Leone 6 years ago when the airport was a basic hangar.

Turkey built the new Freetown International Airport which is now a lovely, modern, clean, efficient terminal, the likes of which many regional European Airports could only dream of.

Our goal on this trip is to gain a better understanding of the country and the program. We have meetings planned with:

  • Foreign Affairs
  • The Minister of Tourism
  • Special Projects – Office of the President
  • Multiple banks
  • Faith leaders
  • National Investment Board
  • Venture Capital fund

Sierra Leonean citizenship is particularly interesting for its access to the ECOWAS community. It means not only visa-free access to most of West Africa, but also expedited residency rights in the following high-growth countries:

  • Benin
  • Cape Verde
  • Côte d’Ivoire
  • The Gambia
  • Ghana
  • Guinea
  • Guinea-Bissau
  • Liberia
  • Nigeria
  • Senegal
  • Sierra Leone
  • Togo

The program costs $140,000 for the main applicant + $10,000 per dependent.

If you can demonstrate through a DNA test that you are of African descent, then the price tag changes to $100,000 + $10,000 per dependent.

Crypto is accepted. Local non-CRS bank accounts can be opened for new citizens. Name changes are also possible.

Here is the most detailed FAQ on the Sierra Leone Citizenship by Investment program. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions – you can just reply to this email with your WhatsApp or Signal/Telegram.

We’ll have access to some of the most senior government officials this week, and will be able to get answers your most specific questions regarding the program and other opportunities in country.

We are processing applications for Sao Tome & Principe as well.

Here the play is different, as the passport doesn’t provide ECOWAS access. It’s simply about getting the cheapest passport currently on market: $90,000 + application fee of $5,000 for a single applicant, or $95,000 + $5,000 for a family of 4.

Both programs can be completed entirely remotely within a few months.

The Wandering Investor LLC does not charge extra

Unlike many citizenship by investment firms out there, we do not charge extra for processing applications. We are licensed agents for both programs, so do not hesitate to reach out to discuss your African options.
