The citizenship by investment landscape sees new programs come and go every several months, which means existing programs are always seeking ways to remain competitive. For example, in 2026 we saw Nauru reduce their fees dramatically to around $101,000 for a single applicant.Â
And now, the Sierra Leone CBI is another such program that is listening to the market and responding accordingly. They have launched two exciting new pathways for naturalization in Sierra Leone with pricing for individual applicants coming right in line with it’s African peer program, the Sao Tome CBI.
The new options are as follows:
Solo Entrepreneur Option: $95,000 donation + $5,000 diligence fee, for a total of $100,000 all-in. This option is for main applicants without dependents.
Enterprise Citizenship Option: $160,000 donation + $5,000 diligence fee for a total of $165,000. This option is for two unrelated individuals applying together without dependents. This represents a per person all-in cost of $82,500.
The legacy Fast-Track option starting at $140,000 for the main applicant, and Heritage Naturalization option at $120,000 for main applicants of African Heritage, are still available for families with dependents.

LADISLAS MAURICE:Â The Sierra Leone Citizenship by Investment program is making exciting new changes, making it potentially the world’s most attractive CBI for single applicants. The program initially started with a donation of $140,000 for the main applicant with $10,000 per dependent or $20,000 per extended family member. Or also a base donation of $100,000 for people of African descent. These options still exist, but now there are new options to get the CBI. Â
The first amongst them is the solo entrepreneur option. If you’re applying on your own, you’re just a single person, you do not need any dependents, nor do you want to add a business partner for $30,000, which is possible with the other options. You just want to apply on your own, it’ll cost you $95,000 donation fee plus $5,000 due diligence fee. So a total of $100,000, which makes it very competitive compared to Sao Tome or even Nauru.
Sao Tome, once you take into account all the extra government fees, due diligence, all of that, you’re at a bit over $95,000, and Nauru a bit under $105,000. So now Sierra Leone at $100,000 flat is in between the two. So the question is, why would you do Sierra Leone instead of Sao Tome? Well, because of ECOWAS access. If you value Africa access, if you want access to countries like Nigeria, to countries like Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, all of West Africa, you should rather choose Sierra Leone than Sao Tome, which does not give you the West Africa, the ECOWAS privileges. And again, it’s not just about visa-free travel, it’s also about the ability to live in these different countries by very easily getting a local residency permit. It’s a bit like the European Union of West Africa.
Another advantage is that the paperwork is a lot less than other similar programs. Nauru has a lot of paperwork, Sao Tome a bit less, but it still has a fair amount of paperwork. Sierra Leone makes a point of making it easy from a paperwork point of view to apply, even though there is still a strict due diligence process that happens in the background. And also, this is a program that you can apply to directly using USDT. So if you want to pay in crypto, Sierra Leone works really well.
The second new product is the enterprise citizenship package. So this is when two unrelated applicants, so not dependents, not extended family members, wish to apply together. Two single people want to apply together. If they apply together, they can get a significant discount compared to applying separately. In this case, the total price is $160,000 donation for the two plus a single $5,000 due diligence fee. So per person, it comes down to $82.5,000, which absolutely makes it the world’s most affordable citizenship by investment program for single applicants compared to Nauru and Sao Tome.
Now, we discussed a little bit earlier about the heritage option, so which is the option for people of African descent, which was set at a base donation of $100,000. So this is for people who apply with dependents. This option still exists, but the base price has increased to $120,000. So if you’re of African descent or if you have an African passport, North African is fine as well. $120,000 donation, $10,000 for immediate family members, $20,000 for extended family members, and you can still add an unrelated business partner for $30,000.
How long does it take from application to actually receiving your passport? The process has shortened significantly and our clients are waiting between six to eight months to get their passports in hand.

And we plan on going back in the near future.
